I took these photos in Havana, Cuba in August of 2007. Havana is an interesting and vibrant city, in large part because of the forced isolation Cuba has been forced to ordeal, despite its proximity to the US mainland. Yes, it’s true, Cuba is an anachronism, but it is much more than that. Aside from the old cars, strange mix of colonial and 50’s modernist architecture, and rich music culture, Cuba is the longest ongoing experiment in the efficacy of a communist government in the Western hemisphere. All these attributes make Cuba a unique and unforgetable experience.
